It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Joanne Ferry, a deeply valued coach, mentor, and much-loved member of our sporting community. Her loss is felt deeply by all players, colleagues, and families connected to the club.
Joanne dedicated herself wholeheartedly to coaching the girls’ teams, always placing the wellbeing, confidence, and development of her players at the very centre of everything she did. She was not only a coach in the technical sense, but also a role model who led with patience, encouragement, and genuine care. Her ability to inspire and uplift those around her made her an irreplaceable presence both on and off the pitch.
She took immense pride in the progress of her players and found great joy in watching them grow in confidence and ability. One of her most cherished moments was seeing the ladies’ team take to the field for their first match in November—a milestone she regarded with immense pride and emotion. It reflected her vision, commitment, and belief in the potential of every player she coached.
Joanne’s kindness, passion for the game, and generosity of spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her. Her influence extended far beyond football, shaping character, confidence, and lifelong friendships within the team environment.
