James Edward “Eddie” Kilpatrick, age 74, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, April 10, 2026. A lifelong resident of Lawrence County, Eddie was well known in the community as the owner of the Depot Street Pool Room, where he built lasting friendships and shared countless memories with those who walked through its doors.
Eddie had a deep love for farming and found great joy in working the land. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family, who were the center of his life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Bosheers Kilpatrick, and his brother, Kenneth Kilpatrick.
Eddie is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Eunice Shaffer Kilpatrick, whose partnership and love were a cornerstone of his life. He also leaves behind two daughters, Amy Smith (Walt) and Jodi Putman (Barry), both of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, who will continue to honor his legacy through their lives and families.
He is further survived by two sisters, Barbara Crouch and Kathy King, both of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee; one brother, Boyd Kilpatrick (Shelia) of Peoria, Illinois; and four cherished grandchildren, Abby Lindon (Matthew) of Cleveland, Tennessee, Kimber Putman, Quint Smith, and Kardin Putman, all of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee.
Eddie’s life was defined by hard work, dedication to family, and a quiet strength that touched everyone around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
