It is with profound sadness that we learned of the sudden and tragic passing of our dear past pupil, Sean Burke O’Neill. Sean completed his Leaving Certificate at Maynooth Post Primary School in 2020, and during his time with us he made a lasting and positive impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Sean was a truly kind and gentle young man, remembered for his warm nature, quiet sincerity, and generous spirit. He carried himself with humility and respect, qualities that endeared him to his peers, his teachers, and the wider school community. His presence brought calmness, kindness, and positivity to those around him, and he was deeply valued by all who encountered him during his school years.
Sean’s passing is a great loss and is felt deeply by everyone who knew him. He will be remembered not only for his character and the way he treated others, but also for the friendships he formed and the respect he consistently showed throughout his time in Maynooth Post Primary School. His memory remains an important and cherished part of our school community.
We extend our sincere and heartfelt condolences to his mother, Sylvia, his father, John, and his brothers, Declan, Cian, and Daniel, all of whom are also valued past pupils of our school. Our thoughts and prayers are with them, and with the extended Burke and O’Neill families, during this heartbreaking time of loss.
We also acknowledge the many friends, classmates, and teachers whose lives were touched by Sean. May they find comfort in the many fond memories they shared with him and in the lasting impact he made during his time with us.
May the Burke and O’Neill families be surrounded by love, strength, and support in the days ahead. May Sean rest in eternal peace, and may his gentle soul be granted everlasting light and happiness.
