William Claude Bullard, a longtime resident of Blountsville, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at his home at the age of 76. He is remembered as a man of deep faith, steadfast love for his family, and a servant’s heart whose quiet influence touched many lives throughout his community.
Born on October 11, 1949, in Cleveland, Alabama, Bullard was the son of William Ezbon Bullard and Florene McLain Bullard. He graduated from J.B. Pennington High School in 1967 and went on to build a career as a skilled tool and die maker. His work reflected his strong ethic, precision, and dedication to excellence—qualities that defined both his professional and personal life.
On May 5, 1973, he married Sharon Green, beginning a marriage that spanned 52 years and stood as a testament to enduring love, partnership, and shared faith. Together, they built a family rooted in devotion and care, forming the center of Bullard’s life.
Following his retirement, Bullard continued to serve his community for nearly nine years as a custodian at J.B. Pennington High School, where he was known for his humility, reliability, and kindness. He was also a faithful member of Oak Grove Community Church, where his commitment to his faith was evident in both word and action.
Family and friends remember him as someone who was always present when needed—dependable, steady, and generous with his time. As a grandfather, he had a special way of making each grandchild feel uniquely loved, while also forming meaningful and lasting relationships with his daughters-in-law, whom he embraced as his own.
Bullard was also known for his humor and quick wit, often lightening moments with sayings such as being “flexible as a jello sandwich” or “born ready, just waiting on the world to catch up.” Beneath his humor was a man whose faith guided his everyday actions, often offering prayer and encouragement wherever he went.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Bullard; children William Joshua (Natalie) Bullard, John Michael (Amanda) Bullard, and Moriah Green; grandchildren Albany, Austin, Olivia, Addison, Amelia “Millie,” and Bridger Bullard; along with sisters Rena Cagle, Alene Bullard, and Patricia (Larry) Ayers; and many extended family members and loved ones.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Blountsville Funeral Home, followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service.
