Charles Phillip Jackson New Haven, CT Obituary, Death: In Loving Memory of Charles Jackson: Devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather

Charles “Charlie” Phillip Jackson, 82, of New Haven, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, April 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Charlie was born on February 17, 1944, in Lyon Station to the late Arthur Sr. and Nellie Lafollette Jackson. He lived a life defined by dedication to his family and his work. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Charlie was deeply cherished by those closest to him. He spent 39 years working at Crucible, where he built a long and respected career before retiring.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his grandson, Charlie Ayers; his great-grandchild, Maci Hope Durbin; his brother, Arthur Jackson Jr.; and his sisters, Mary Dawson and Joann Miracle.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Judy Carol Rogers Jackson of New Haven; his son, Michael Steven (Brandi) Jackson of Hodgenville; and his daughter, Melissa Ann (Chris) Ayers of New Haven. Charlie also leaves behind four grandchildren—Justin Lee Jackson, Amber Ayers, Charles Bradley Jackson, and Dylan Rance Jackson—as well as two great-grandchildren, Isabella Ayers and Noah James Durbin. He is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., with burial to follow at St. Catherine Church Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Brother J.R. Donahue.

Visitation will take place the same day from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the William R. Rust New Haven Chapel, leading into the funeral service.
